Bikers for Kids – Newcastle Toy Run

On the 3rd of December, Bikers for Kids will have its 40th anniversary, with an objective to raise funds for the underprivileged families and children.  More than 10,000 riders are expected to come together for a Christmas convoy at the Stockton Ballast Park. The motor bikes will arrive from 10 am at the Wickham Park, for an exciting day out, where the whole community is invited. The celebrations will include delicious food, drinks, market stalls for shopping and toy donation point. The entire day has been specifically programmed with roving entertainment, Tug of War, kids activities and live music.

Destiny – The Musical at Cessnock Performing Arts Centre

Everyone has a dream to lead a wonderful life, with exceptional lifestyle. ‘Destiny’ is a musical play about a girl who heads to a big city, in quest of fame, but the cruel world outside makes her realise the importance of home. This community inclusive musical theatre production will be performed at the Cessnock Arts Centre on the 6th of December. Throughout the entire project, a group of artists will be mentored in costume design, stage direction, show production, lighting and sounds.

Never Ending 80’s

80’s was the most special time in the late 20th century, being the era of big hits and big hair. This high-octane event on the 9th of December will take you back to those times, with an event jam packed with some of the biggest hits in the industry. The Never Ending 80’s will bring you some vintage soundtracks, coming directly through the greats of Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi, INXS, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna and Prince. The beats will surely make you sing and dance along to the tunes!

Newcastle University Choir presents The Creation

Established in the year 1977, the Newcastle University choir will be rejoicing its 40th anniversary on the 10th of December, having expanded its base in the local community. All the community members, students, staff members and alumni are invited to enjoy the first concert in 2017. The Creation will be featuring internationally recognized soloists, and monumental oratorio with full orchestra by Haydn.

Three exceptionally talented artists with their special skills will be joining hands to put up a show worth watching. These bunch of guys are influenced and inspired by the unseen natural world that surrounds us. Michelle Loadsman and Bernice Holly have an expertise in mixed media, acrylic and watercolour, while Ross Fletcher is an expert working in sandstone. They believe in connecting, creating and inspiring others. You will be literally amazed to witness the heights of creativity that a human being has mastered over time.

Pups in the Park at Lambton Park

In this festive season, your pup also deserves a good day out along with your family. Bring your tommy to Lambton Park for some exceptional canine fun, with loads of free giveaways on offer. Get to know the essentials of being a good dog owner, and grab a prize for dressing up your dog, the most unique way. Free microchipping will be provided by Council rangers, only to Newcastle residents, for which you might have to show address proofs. Litters of breeding dogs and pups are not allowed.

The Wiggly Wiggly Christmas Big Show at Newcastle Entertainment Centre

On the 19th of December, the Newcastle Entertainment Centre will turn into a festive mood with the Wiggly Christmas Big Show, featuring all the favourite wiggle songs such as Go Santa Go, Rock A Bye Your Bear and Do the Propeller. You will see dancing reindeers, Santa Claus, Wiggly dancers and the Wiggles wiggling on the snow. People of all ages and abilities can join the show that is expected to be an unforgettable experience for everyone.

Circus Avalon: Live At Lizotte’s

On the 22nd of December, Circus Avalon will be presenting some of the best dance, magic, circus and cabaret performances of Australia in an intimate gathering at Lizotte’s. The show will feature the likes of professional stage magician Benny O, astonishing master of the Diabolo; Jordan and two times winner of the Australian circus competition, Kara and Juliet. There may be some double meaning remarks from the MC, but the show is family friendly. This group has performed in many Australian cities, with packed theatres and incredible reviews.
